ACOI 2024: Art to Health: Health, Humanities, and Osteopathic Internal Medicine
Join us in Scottsdale, Arizona, October 30-November 2
Laura M. Rosch, DO, FACOI, Annual Convention Chair
C. Clark Milton, DO, FACOI, Annual Convention Vice Chair
As we all agree, osteopathic internal medicine physicians intimately understand that the practice of internal medicine is not just about diagnosing and treating ailments—it's about understanding the human experience in its entirety. It was this ideal that helped us craft the theme for ACOI 2024—Art to Health: Health, Humanities and Osteopathic Internal Medicine. The Annual Convention will be filled with opportunities to learn more about the integration of art, humanities, and how we practice medicine.
We understand how the integration of humanities incorporates critical thinking skills and helps develop the ability to analyze and problem solve. It also unleashes creativity which is a critical pathway for DOs to devise innovative solutions for patient care while protecting ourselves from burnout.
This expansive view presented at ACOI 2024 will not only enrich our collective understanding of medicine but will also:
- Broaden our approach to problem-solving and resilience-building, both of which are cornerstones of osteopathic internal medicine.
- Help us nurture a holistic view of patient care while emphasizing the importance of human connection, equipping us to better navigate the emotional demands of our profession.
- Offer a profound exploration of what it means to be human in the context of health and healthcare through a series of sessions that will cover everything from gender equality and civil rights to environmental justice and barriers to care.
Consistently ranked as one of our members’ favorite Annual Convention destinations, Annual Convention Chair, Dr. Rosch, and Vice Chair, Dr. Milton, invite you to travel to Scottsdale, Arizona.
