The Medtronic SoCal team recognized Evangelos Diamantakos, DO, FACOI, (of Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Desert, CA) for his expertise and dedication in using Medtronic’s PFA PulseSelect system. The PulseSelect pulse field ablation (PFA) system enables both mapping and precise lesion delivery via biphasic waveform optimization. It is the first PFA technology to receive FDA approval. Using this system, Dr. Diamantakos completed 100 cases in 9 months; in addition, he traveled to China to proctor some of the country’s best physicians on the PulseSelect system, visiting four provinces in seven days to do so. Congratulations, Dr. Diamantakos!

MarkAlain Déry, DO, FACOI, was featured in an article on hantavirus, which delved into the recent death of Gene Hackman’s wife Betsy Arakawa of the infectious disease. Dr. Déry has experience in personally diagnosing several cases of hantavirus and offered important information on the nature of its transmission. 

Claudia Lum, DO, FACOI, has started a new position as a primary care physician at Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, PA. Congratulations, Dr. Lum!

Gregory Harris, DO, FACOI, served as Doctor of the Day for the Georgia General Assembly in mid-March. Congratulations, Dr. Harris!  

Charlene LePane, DO, MBA, FACOI, was honored as the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association’s Doctor of the Day at the end of March. Congratulations, Dr. LePane!

Robert Cain, DO, MACOI, was featured on a recent episode of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) podcast PCOM Perspectives. In a conversation with PCOM President and CEO Jay S. Feldstein, Dr. Cain discussed the importance of community-based healthcare and how AI could impact the future of primary care. Congratulations to Dr. Cain!

Jason Beckrow, DO, FACOI, was recently featured on the podcast Palliative Matters. The episode focused on relational medicine, intensive caring, and empowering patients through understanding their stories. Congratulations to Dr. Beckrow!

Jacob Mathew, DO, MBA, FACOI, has been selected as a 2025 Doximity Digital Health Fellow. The Doximity Digital Health Fellowship is a year-long program for medical professionals who are interested in advancing digital health technology, encouraging innovation, and supporting quality improvement in healthcare. Fellows get the opportunity to work closely with Doximity, the largest community of healthcare professionals in the country. Congratulations, Dr. Mathew!

Dean of Sam Houston State University (SHSU) College of Osteopathic Medicine Thomas Mohr, MS, DO, FACOI, accompanied SHSU President Alisa White, CFO Amanda Withers, and Deputy to the President McCartney Johnson in a visit to the State Capitol. They supported the SHSU Chancellor and all university system presidents as they addressed legislators on budget issues in higher education. Congratulations, Dr. Mohr!
