
Aaron Anderson, DO, FACOI, has accepted an appointment by Xavier Becerra, Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), to serve as Chair of the National Advisory Committee for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC). Over the two-year term, Dr. Anderson hopes to use this role to help shape policy that will better serve community health centers and NHSC recipients around the country. Natasha Bray, DO, FACOI, was recently featured for a talk on AI in medicine at the Think Health: AI for Healthy Communities conference in Bentonville, Arkansas. Organized by the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine and Stanford Medicine, the conference took place at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Dr. Bray’s talk was one of many exploring strategies for improving community health and wellness using AI. The conference discussions focused on fostering cross-sector partnerships and AI-driven initiatives for the future. Congratulations to Dr. Bray!

Humayun Chaudhry, DO, MACOI, was named to the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) Board of Trustees. NYIT is a global research university whose Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (in New York and Arkansas) had a 99% match rate last year. Dr. Chaudhry is a graduate of NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine as well as a past president of ACOI. Congratulations, Dr. Chaudhry!

C. Dean Milne, DO, FACOI, was featured for his work as owner and president of Internal Medicine Specialists of Las Vegas (IMS of Las Vegas), and for the center’s commitment to educating and training the next generation of physicians. IMS of Las Vegas is an Academic Center for Excellence and serves over 30 Internal Medicine and family medicine physicians in the final stages of their training. Congratulations, Dr. Milne!

Laura Rosch, DO, FACOI,—alongside a research team including Dr. Amberly Reynolds, Student Doctor Rene Hooper, and Student Doctor Kalin Sorenson—received the Food As Medicine research grant from the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM). This grant supports "innovative programs, curriculum development and community engagement projects that embody the principles of Food As Medicine in osteopathic medical education.” The team was recognized for their work on "Perceptions and Impact of Nutrition Education and Outreach on Osteopathic Medical Students and the Local Community.” Congratulations, Dr. Rosch!

Mark Sahyouni, fourth-year student doctor, was named the Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Medicine Student Researcher of the Year (SROY). Sahyouni will advance to the National Student Researcher of the Year competition. Student Doctor Sahyouni presented his work at the 2024 ACOI Annual Convention & Scientific Sessions. The SROY Award was started by the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine’s (AACOM’s) Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents. It recognizes osteopathic medical students with highly competitive experiences and advancement in clinical, translational or basic science research. Congratulations, Mark!

Dominic Valentino III, DO, FACOI, is starting a new position as Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine.
